In keeping with the quiet sports celebrated across Cuyuna, you’ll enjoy discovering Cuyuna Creek Cottage—a woodland haven tucked in amid three acres of forest near Riverton and alongside a picturesque creek. With full access to the entire house and yard, this cottage gives deeper meaning to a getaway.

After parking in the private driveway, you’ll discover one of the home’s unique features. With Cuyuna Creek Cottage set below street level, the parking area is connected to the home’s front door with a unique walkway bridge.

Cuyuna Creek Cottage’s fully equipped kitchen is creatively designed with amazing custom cabinetry and an island for extra prep space. The spacious dining room has an electric fireplace to add to the dining atmosphere or to take off the chill on a cool day, as well as a wall of windows—one of them stained glass! In fact, every room has an abundance of natural light. The front views overlook the quiet and secluded front yard with a porch sitting area and fire pit. The grassy back yard has a creek running through it. Hardwood floors are found throughout the majority of the home.

After a day of exploring Cuyuna, relax in the upstairs living room with 50-inch smart TV and blackout shades. There is also a downstairs family room with the ambiance of an electric fireplace and doors to the front porch and yard. If you enjoy games, check out the game closet for fun for all ages.

Four guests will sleep comfortably:

• One bedroom with queen bed with memory foam pillows, blackout curtains, and TV with Firestick.

Cuyuna Creek Cottage is truly in the heart of the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area. Whether you’re here for a weekend, a week, or longer (extended stay is an option) discover all the recreation Cuyuna has to offer. You’re less than a minute’s walk to the Cuyuna Lakes State Trail trailhead with paved trail access to the cities of Ironton and Crosby, without needing to ride on a road. You also have ride-in, ride-out access to the Sagamore, South Mahnomen, and North Mahnomen Units of mountain bike trails.

If you enjoy water sports, bring your boat or kayaks (or rent them locally). There are three public lake accesses just down the road! One access is on Little Rabbit Lake, which allows paddlers access to the Mighty Mississippi. The second lake access is Sagamore Mine Lake—home to great paddling, a great island to explore around, and excellent lake trout fishing! The third is Rowe Mine Lake—a hidden gem most folks don’t even know exists.
