This was Erin’s vision, a Deerwood native and a longtime champion of the outdoors. Metanoia Cottage is the reality of that vision, right here, in Cuyuna. Metanoia, pronounced “meh-ta-noy-ah” is a Greek word meaning “the journey of changing one’s mind, heart, way of life.” Because here, you can take a break from everyday life, rest, and be your best self.

This charming, new construction has an industrial farmhouse-like feel with modern amenities—and it’s dog friendly! The cottage was created with our furry companions in mind. Dogs are allowed inside and out! Two dog crates are provided for when you’re out adventuring on the trails, in the water, or on the town. Dog towels, bowls and treats are provided, too!

From the large windows ushering natural light into every part of the house to the soothing warmth of the fireplace—Metanoia Cottage knows how to do cozy and calm. The open-concept, textures, clean lines, and tasteful decor create a peaceful atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and make yourself at home. The floors in the Cottage are stained concrete, providing easy cleanup when it comes to pets, red dirt, and Cuyuna Adventuring!

The 1400 sq. ft., single-level space includes a living area, 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, including a crock pot and 14-cup coffee pot, as well as a washer and dryer. Each bedroom features a queen bed, soft blankets, feather pillows, and large closets. When you include the sofa/queen pull-out bed, the cottage can sleep up to six.

Metanoia Cottage includes the techy comforts of home, too—a TV with streaming services and Wi-Fi—but who needs that when you’re staying in Adventure Town, USA?!

Outside, you have access to a two-stall garage (where you can securely store your vehicle, bikes, kayaks, paddleboards, and gear) and one amazing backyard. Both you and your pup will enjoy the greenspace of the property’s huge backyard. The 300 sq. ft. of privacy fencing boarders the property making it private and safe for playing fetch or just soaking up some Cuyuna sun and fresh air.

Located central to the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area entrance and downtown Crosby, staying here puts you within riding (or walking) distance of both the mountain bike trails and local shopping, dining, and nightlife. And if you need bike gear, parts, components, apparel, or mechanic service, you’re just blocks away from Cykel, Ironton’s bike shop.
