Take a scenic drive or an easy cycle 14 miles east of Cuyuna and you’ll discover The Beanery Cafe and Roastery in Aitkin. It’s way more than great food and coffee—it’s also a restaurant with live music! Since 2005, it’s been a favorite breakfast/sandwich/coffee shop and they recently rolled out a new menu. If you’re hosting an after-ride party, picnic, or a work event, they are also excellent caterers.
Stop in and enjoy featured espresso drinks, including Raspberry White Mocha or Snickers Latte, and choose from six different milk options. Breakfast is served all day and menu items include The Bigger Burrito, French Sammi, or try the McBean or its cousin—the NoCarb McBean. They also have a mouth-watering bakery case filled with fresh scones, muffins, and more—even gluten-free.
Sandwiches and paninis include The Monte Cristo, The Chicken Pesto, a mouth-watering Grilled Three Cheese, and much more. Soups and salads round out the menu, along with daily specials, so you’re sure to find something to tempt your tastebuds.
Now let’s talk about “The Up North Ultimate Intimate Concert Venue,” because the Beanery is also a restaurant with live music. But they don’t just have musicians playing in the background—they offer a total, listening-room experience for you to sit and enjoy the music while the artists have center stage. They even feature a special menu on concert nights—seating is limited and tickets must be purchased in advance. The best part is that the live music happens all year long—every Friday in the summer and with concerts a couple times a month during the winter. They also host the Traveling Art Pub monthly.
While you’re at The Beanery Cafe and Roastery, stop in at their new adjoining shop— PAL & Co. A Local Emporium. PAL will feature men’s and women’s clothing, gifts, and locally sourced products.
Check out their terrace opening this spring. There’s always something new to love about the The Beanery Cafe and Roastery!
