Explore the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area by inland sea—rent a kayak from Unbound Adventures! They have one- and two-person mobile kayak rentals—they deliver direct to your put-in spot!

For a half-day adventure, you can choose a 4-hour kayak rental, but with 16 mine lakes and 6 natural lakes to explore in the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area, we recommend a full-day/overnight kayak rental. (Or maybe a couple of days—there are many, many more natural lakes and rivers just outside the rec area!)

The rental process could not be easier:

1. Visit the Unbound Adventures website
2. Select a tandem (two-person) or single (one-person) kayak rental
3. Schedule your date and time
4. Note your delivery location
5. Show up for your adventure!

On the day of your rental, local owners, Ashley and Andrew Gustafson will meet you at your delivery location with your kayak. When you’re done they’ll meet you to pick it up. No hauling or loading required! Personal floatation devices (PDFs) are included, too.

If you’re looking for places to paddle, try our mine lake paddling routes  for picturesque views of natural shoreline and native wildlife, or enjoy some easy paddling and fishing along the  Mississippi River State Water Trail.
