French Rapids Cross-Country Ski Area
Just 12.6 miles from True North Basecamp—15 minutes west of Ironton off of HWY 210—you’ll find French Rapids Cross-Country Ski Area.
French Rapids features 16km of expert-rated Nordic ski trails that traverse small pine trees and offer breathtaking views of the Mississippi River. These trails are extremely challenging, with steep and unrelenting hills in a relatively remote relocation. For your safety, we recommend skiing with a friend.
Trails are groomed for both classic and skate-style cross-country skiing.

- A Great Minnesota Ski Pass is required for those ages 16+. Passes are available online and wherever DNR permits and licenses are sold.
- Fat biking is not allowed
